We will discuss how to do close readings of seen and unseen texts and what makes a good contextual reading. Your final ATAR score may be one indicator of your ability to become a successful engineer or IT specialist, but we know you’re more than just a number. Our new Edge Program is based on broader criteria than an ATAR alone.
UTS – Be eligible for 10 Adjustment Points for Women in Engineering IT and Construction
If you’re female and have applied for selected engineering, information technology or construction project management courses, you’re eligible to receive 10 adjustment points. These adjustment points are automatically applied (no additional application required) and contribute to your selection rank.

Early offers made on 5 September 2022 are based on Year 11
results. ANU will honour these for study in 2023 as long as you complete Year
12 and receive an ATAR.
If your Year 11 results don’t meet entry requirements, we
will put you on our waiting list and automatically consider your application
again based on your Year 12 results in the December/January offer round.

Trade Readiness Courses are open to anyone in years 9 to 12. They last five days and are like being in a real work environment. All TRC teachers are trade-qualified and the courses are industry-supported. A Trade Readiness Course can be delivered by TAFE NSW in your high school. Students will receive a detailed course performance report and will be interviewed by industry personnel. TAFE NSW is currently delivering TRC in bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, painting & decorating, signs & graphics, shopfitting, civil construction, wall & ceiling lining, and wall & floor tiling.
