2027 Scholarship applications are now open!

In 2026, William Carey Christian School will offer three distinct scholarship opportunities for 2027. These scholarships are designed to nurture excellence and provide students with opportunities to thrive both academically and personally. They are available to students commencing Year 7, Year 9, and Year 11 in 2027.

Academic Scholarships

Our Academic Scholarships aim to foster a culture of academic excellence across the school. These scholarships are open to both external applicants and current students entering Year 7, Year 9, or Year 11 in 2027.

Key Requirements: 

  • WCCS Academic Scholarship holders are expected to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and provide leadership by setting a positive example through their academic rigour, spirit of service, and school involvement.

  • Completed WCCS Academic Scholarship Application Form.

  • Demonstrate high academic standing through school reports, NAPLAN results, and the AGAT assessment.

  • Participate in an interview (if shortlisted).

All-Rounder Scholarships

Our All-Rounder Scholarships celebrate a wide range of God-given gifts and talents, fostering a vibrant and diverse educational culture. These scholarships are open to both external applicants and current students entering Year 7, Year 9, or Year 11 in 2027.

Key Requirements: 

  • WCCS All-Rounder Scholarship holders are expected to set a positive example in their field of excellence and through their character and co-curricular involvement.

  • Demonstrate sound academic standing through school reports, NAPLAN results, and the AGAT assessment.

  • Expertise in one or more categories:

    • Sport: Regional or State-level achievement (or equivalent).

    • Creative and Performing Arts

    • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

    • School/Community Service

    • Leadership: Current school leadership position such as; School Captain, Vice-Captain, or similar roles.

  • Completed WCCS All-Rounder Scholarship Application Form.

  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a relevant referee.

  • Participate in an interview (if shortlisted).

The William Carey Scholarship:

The William Carey Scholarship provides opportunities for students from active Christian families to access an independent Christian education, where financial circumstances might otherwise make this unattainable. This scholarship is open to external applicants only, entering Year 7, Year 9, or Year 11 in 2027.

Key Requirements: 

  • Scholarship holders are expected to demonstrate leadership and enhance the school’s Christian culture through their character, spirit of service, and co-curricular involvement.

  • Demonstrate sound academic standing through school reports, NAPLAN results, and the AGAT assessment.

  • Completed WCCS William Carey Scholarship Application Form.

  • Provide a reference from a current Protestant church minister or pastor

  • Undergo a means test (if shortlisted), including financial statements to determine the level of need.

  • Participate in an interview (if shortlisted)

How do I apply for a Scholarship?

External Applicants (not yet students of WCCS) 

  1. All external applicants must complete a William Carey Enrolment Form. Please complete the enrolment application form here: enrolments.wccs.nsw.edu.au/application-for-enrolment/start
  2. Attend an Enrolment Information Session and pay the $100 application fee.
  3. Submit the relevant Scholarship Application Form along with any supporting documentation by Friday, 27th February 2026 via email to scholarships@wccs.nsw.edu.au.
  4. Attend a Scholarship Assessment Day on Saturday, 7th March.

Internal Applicants (current students of WCCS) 

  1. Submit the relevant Scholarship Application Form along with any supporting documentation by Friday, 27th February 2026 via email to scholarships@wccs.nsw.edu.au.
  2. Internal candidates are not required to attend the Student Assessment Day. Instead, the committee will review school reports, academic progress, and any standardised testing completed.

Understanding the process

  • Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed by the Scholarship Committee, convened by the Director of Teaching & Learning.
  • Successful applicants will be chosen, and all applicants will be notified by the end of Term 2, 2026.
