We have a thriving Creative Arts department that nurtures natural ability and enriches the educational experience. Our students find joy in expressing themselves through dance, drama, music, art and photography. Throughout the school year, Creative Arts students may display their talents at a range of events including the Creative Arts Open Night, Fun Fairs, information evenings and assemblies.
We are widely known for the spectacular musicals that we produce every second year. Our musicals are large-scale productions that bring the whole school together as a community. Students from Prep to Year 11 participate in the production and we love to have the involvement of the parent and carer community in roles such as costuming and set design.
There are several different musical groups that students are welcome to join. There are options for everyone, from beginners through to experienced performers. WCCS School Band, Rock Ensemble, String Ensemble and Choir are some of the opportunities available for students in Primary and High School.
Dance Academy offers a variety of dance styles such as jazz, ballet and musical theatre for all abilities across a range of age groups. Classes are held on site after school by Miss Estelle who has a wealth of knowledge and passion for dance.
The school offers instrument hire at a nominal fee and facilitates music tuition from experienced tutors. These take place on school grounds, during school hours. Tutoring is available to both Primary and High School students for guitar, piano, violin, cello and vocals.
Drama club is a weekly lunchtime group for Year 7 students to develop their relational, communicational, personal and creative skills.
