Primary 1/12: The greatest Christmas gift

Dear Parents and Carers,

My daughter is in her happy place leading up to Christmas. Several weeks ago, she asked us what we would like as a gift. She has searched the internet and the shops for the perfect gift for us. And when she found it, she proudly wrapped it in paper and a card and placed it under our Christmas tree.

Throughout the Old Testament, God made many promises. He promised that He’d never flood the whole world again after Noah and the ark, Genesis 9:11. He promised to lead Israelites to the Promised Land, Joshua 1-5. God also promised He’d send us a Saviour, Isaiah 53. God promised that one day, a descendant of David’s would be a great king. This king will be the son of God and will rule a kingdom that will never end. Jesus was born with no fanfare. He did not come to be a token of God’s love for us. Jesus came to give us eternal life. He came to pay the price for our broken relationship with God. By believing in Jesus, we will have eternal life, John 3:16

Christmas is a festive time of the year. It is a time to be thankful for the extraordinary gift that was promised and given. Enjoy these holidays with your families. May it be restful and refreshing.

God bless,

Mrs Coote

Primary Deputy Principal

On Thursday this week, students from Prep – Year 6 hung a class bauble with the total amount raised by their class, going towards those within in our community who are in need this Christmas. The Christmas Tree is on display in the Primary Quad.

During week 7 of this term,  Year 3-6 ALC and Advanced Mathematics Groups ran ‘Triple M’ (Money – Manna or Mammon).  This involved the students setting up a “shop”, consisting of 3-4 partners and selling their wares for ALC money. Each group was required to present a business plan and budget that was approved by their parents and teachers.  Students set up shops, displaying their product, pricing and everything needed in order to make and package their product. There were some fantastic group projects and the room was full of excitement all week!

The Prep Christmas Concert was held on Wednesday night. It was a joyous occasion with some wonderful performances by our Prep students, as well as delicious food and the chance to view student artworks. Thank you to all who came along and to those who helped on the night. We wish our Prep students all the best as they look forward to starting Kindergarten in 2024.
