During our morning talks, we have been learning how Jesus showed the way to lead those around us. He was a servant leader who humbly and gently led. Jesus taught and preached to those who were curious and wanted to know more. He provided examples of servant leadership to his followers. Jesus followed and listened to His Father and displayed the need to lead those around prayerfully. He cared for all his followers’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
The students at William Carey aim to display similar ways of leading others. The students in Years 5 and 6 meet weekly to learn more about his Word and share this with the students in Stage 2. With the support of staff, they plan and prepare different games and activities. They make a point of reading bible verses, singing worship songs, and praying together.
Lachlan is one of our Year 6 students. One of his passions in life is athletics, and he has only recently represented NSWPSSA Athletics Team in the School Sport Australia Trach & Field Championship at QSAC (Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre). However, he enjoys leading the younger student in throwing both shot up and javelin. Lachlan provides and shows the students the safest and most effective way of doing this well.
Leadership happens in all parts of William Carey. These Prep students are listening and following the directions of their teacher. Jesus is fully present in the lives of all of us. He is an incredible listener; we must practise this skill to understand those around us better.
Jesus’ wonder surrounds us! Every day I am honoured to see this in the students here at William Carey.
Kind regards,
Mrs Gillian Coote

Start of the School Day
School starts at 8:40 am, so please have your child/ren school by 8:35 am. If they arrive any time after 8:40 am, they will receive a late note.
End of the School Day
School finishes at 3:00 pm. If your child is in car lines, they need to be picked up by 3:30 pm. If you are running late, they will be escorted to OOSH, which is in the blue building at the front of the school.
Students Late to School
If you receive a notification that your child has arrived late to school, you must provide a reason behind this. Please be aware that “late” does not explain why, so more information would be required.
Label Uniforms
We have several unlabelled uniforms here at school. Please make sure all your child’s clothes are clearly labelled, so that they can easily be returned.
